Gerard has always had an inquisitive mind; his favorite question is: “why?”. At a young age he literally took apart everything that came across to investigate how its workings (driving his parents insane). His never-ending energy to learn and explore stills keeps him going strong every day.
Wanting to to become a scientist, electric engineer, truck-driver, architect, Gerard eventually became enchanted by graphic design. After graduating at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague he set off on a world-exploration trip. In september 2009 he returned to the Netherlands and situated himself in Rotterdam, opening his own design studio.
According to Gerard, every valuable message needs a suiting visual appearance to attract the attention that it deserves. As Except's communication strategist, Gerard strives to design the content of Except so that it informs and inspires larges audiences all over the world.
