Monica is a thoughtful urban designer and architect who ispassionate about fair and proper living conditions worldwide. With over ten years experience in the field of urban design, planning, housing and social strategies, Monica is committed to unlock local needs and foster community involvement for city improvement.
As an architect, Monica flourishes in conceptual design processes that add spatial quality and materialization. She has experience in interior renovation and public space scale projects.
In the last years Monica has gained experience in the field of Food in the City, a theme that encompasses consumption awareness, environmental, social and spatial impacts. She believes food can be used as a social and innovative design tool to address current urban challenges.
Monica holds a Bachelor degree Architecture and Theory from the Catholic University of La Paz, Bolivia and a Master in Urban Design Regeneration from Delft University of Technology. She is also educated in Design Thinking and Human Centered Innovation, and contributes to the educational and training programmes at Except.
In her free time, she enjoys literature, fitness, yoga, and exploring new places and activities with friends.
